Play date overload!

I have been slacking on this blog thing. I'm about to play serious catch up!

About two weeks ago, I was asked to admin for my local moms group on Facebook. I can't begin to tell you how excited I was. I love play dates! I love meeting new moms! This is perfect for me.

So over these few weeks I have met some awesome moms. We have done walking outings and tomorrow is our first zoo trip! I am so excited to make some close friends with kids W's age.
I'm going to host a play date in my home in the next two weeks, I can't wait.

Mommy pick up

Today at the park while swinging Walker I was approached by another mom. She has a 9 month old daughter would, coincidentally, also loves to swing!

She was super friendly and started asking questions about whether I was a SAHM and if I knew of any play groups. After some chit chat she cut to the chase and wanted to get my number so our little ones could get together. We exchanged numbers and are hoping to get together this week.

This is my first ever mommy pick up. I have never felt comfortable enough to ask a random stranger for their number so our littles could hang out. But I am so excited that she had the courage to ask me because I desperately need some mommy friends in the area. I am hoping that we connect enough to where I can have someone to go on walks with or grab coffee and swing the littles in the park.

I honestly never knew this was a thing until just recently. Maybe I can start my own play group by grabbing random ladies in the park? :)

Here's my boy swinging away today. He refused to sit back and wanted to lean forward with his arms through the leg holes. What am I going to do with him :)

Monkeys and tigers and spring cleaning?

I am playing catch up in blog posts tonight!

Two weeks ago was our first zoo day! Walker, being that he is only 5 months old, wasn't to in to it. That is until we hit the zoo train. He loved the zoo train so much. Lucky for us my best friend has a zoo membership so she can get us in for free. We have been once a week for the last two weeks and plan to continue to go every week for the summer. Honestly, it's really great mommy exercise!

All 4 of us had a total blast.
I have also spent the last two weeks deep cleaning my house. Talk about tedious work. All that's left is the office (which I am converting into a play room slowly), and our bedroom. Tonight I spent two hours on our bathroom, but after all was done it looks like a whole new room!

I am excited to have everything organized again. We desperately needed it.

Sweet peas

This week we started sweet peas. This was by far his favorite food so far.
I bought a bag of organic sweet peas for a little over $3, steamed them, and blended them. I filled as ice tray and froze the peas over night. The bag made enough for 8 days worth of food for little man.
I was recently trying to decide when to add another meal to his day. Right now he is eating dinner (although the first time we try a food we try it around lunch time just in case he has a reaction to it). I want to add breakfast in a few more weeks. Right now he doesn't show a whole lot of interest in food. He spits out more then he eats. He is still a champion nurser though so I'm not worried about his food intake.

Next week is mangos!

Pears

This week pears are on the menu!

He has had pears twice at the time of writing this and he liked them way better the second time. I spent about $5 on 4 pears. I steamed them and blended them with water. It made about 3 weeks worth of food (I freeze all of it, it's good for 3 months). I tried something different when giving him the food this time. I put some on his tray for him to play with. He wanted nothing to do with it, which is funny because he loves to grab the spoon from me and try to feed himself.

Next week it's on to sweet peas!
