Sunday update

I have had the craziest weekend. To begin, my little sister came home from college this weekend for Easter. She decided we needed to start all of the gender reveal stuff now since she won't be back again until May. SO, we spent Friday and Saturday buying decorations, party favors, painting, and glueing stuff together. We have more stuff then I know what to do with right now and it's just sitting in the nursery for the next 8 weeks. I would post a pic, but I don't want to spoil the gender reveal party decor surprise!

So my sister also wanted to make a chalk board for my weekly bump photo (she didn't like the mirror pictures haha) so here is pic number one even though I am technically 10 weeks and like 4 days in this picture. (Also, I took the picture in my Easter dress. I love the dress that much)

We went shopping on Saturday with a beautiful sunny sky, not a cloud in sight. 10 minutes later we were hit with this: quarter size hail and the sun shinning. Luckily we were by a bank so I was able to park under there overhang to avoid the hail. Only in Oklahoma.

This and the picture below are my Easter dress. Target has some of the cutest clothes ever, I swear.

Ryder hanging out with me Saturday night :)
He also refused to give up my pregnancy pillow when I was ready to go to bed. I had to force him off. Butt head.

Easter with the family was great. I love family get togethers! Nothing better then sitting around a table with the ones you love the most. <3

Double digits! 10 weeks

How far along? 10 weeks
Size of baby? Baby is the size of a prune
Maternity clothes? Nope, with the exception of my bellaband. My jeans still button, they are just so uncomfortable.
Stretch marks? None
Sleep: Still pretty tired, however I am sleeping just fine except waking up to pee all the time.
Best moment this week: Double digits! I also got to see baby again at my emergency ultrasound in the hospital. Even under those conditions, it made me happy to see little foot
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? Beer, which seem silly since I never really drank beer before I was pregnant.
Movement: I know s/he is moving around in there, I just can't feel it.
Food cravings: Pickles, Orange juice, and coffee
Anything making you queasy or sick: I had the stomach flu so that didn't help. However, the smell of cigarette smoke is disgusting
Symptoms: Sore breasts, bleeding gums, bloat, exhaustion, pregnancy brain.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy 70% of the time, moody 30% for absolutely no reason.
Have you started to show yet: Sort of. If you count the bloat.
Gender prediction: Two weeks ago I swore it was a boy. Now I'm not so sure.
Baby Names: Lyla Joanne and Walker Michael.
Labor Signs: None and hopefully it stays that way for at least 25 more weeks!
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On
Looking forward to: April 10th for our next appointment, setting up our ultrasound to find out the gender, and 2nd tri!

Impromptu hospital visit

The story begins last night...
I was at a friends house when a wave of nausea hit me. I figured hey I'm pregnant, this has happened before. No big deal right? WRONG.
I drove home feeling very queasy. When I arrived home, Ben had ordered pizza. I chose to attempt to eat. Three pieces of pizza later I was feeling slightly better though still nauseous. I managed to fight the nausea until around 11 PM when I no longer could. I'll save you the nasty details, but it was terrible. I felt better instantly (hence assuming it was only night sickness which was not out of the ordinary for me). I left a note of Ben explaining what happened and that I would scrub our bathroom the next day.
I proceed to wake up feeling like I was going to vomit all night long. I knew this was not normal. This morning I woke up and threw up again, but not just throw up. Lets just say nastiness was coming out of everywhere. It was not attractive at all.
I began to worry around ten. I called my midwife to explain what was happening and she wanted me in the emergency room immediately. As soon as I got a hold of Ben he rushed home from work to take me straight to the hospital. I am so thankful for my fantastic husband.
At the hospital, I was taken back fairly quickly where they gave me an IV and started an IV drip of essentially sugar water (Ben proceeded to tell me I was a humming bird for the rest of the day haha) to get fluids and calories in me. After a few hours, they took us for an ultrasound (can't say I was sad to get to see my baby again :D). Baby was perfect with a heartbeat of 181 (I'm really starting to think baby is a girl). After all was said and done I ended up with a prescription for Zofran which is anti nausea medicine and an antibiotic because I also had a UTI!
I am resting at home feeling quite a bit better. I managed to eat a bowl of spagettios and a few graham crackers. Oh and when I got home I discovered that my best friend came over and cleaned my entire house because she knew how sick I had been feeling. Seriously, I have the most amazing best friend ever. Thank God for the amazing people in my life.

Sunday update (on Monday!)

It's spring break! WHOO HOO! I spent this entire day catching up on some school stuff, and I'm still not even close to done.

Monday: I went to school and had dinner with my sister. I'm so glad I get to spend time with her.

Wednesday: Our first doctors appointment! I never made a full update, but I'll add some details here. We had the ultrasound and baby was perfect. My midwife changes our due date to 10/21, but I'm still partial to 10/23 so I'm sticking with it! We even got to see baby wiggle on the screen! Ben cried, and I realized at that moment I couldn't love my little family any more if I tried. This was something we had created together, how magical. I go back in on Tuesday for my genetics appointment and then our next appointment in April 10th which will include all the blood work, pap smear, etc. pretty much all the stuff I hate the most, but I am still so excited!

Friday: We spent the evening with friends. I love Friday nights.

Saturday: I helped host a baby shower for a good friend of mine who is due the first of May. Then, Ben and I went to see a movie, Identity Theft, it was hilarious and totally worth watching!

Sunday: Slept in and dinner with my dad.

All in all last week was amazing. This week I am focusing on school work, house work, and napping haha.

Introducing Baby S

I'll do an 8 week belly picture later tonight. For now, here is my little bean. S/he is measuring perfectly and has a heartbeat of 171 beats per minute. I couldn't be more in love.

First appointment tomorrow!

Well technically today since I can't sleep! We have our first appointment tomorrow at 1:30 and I am a nervous wreck. For the last 4 weeks I have dreamed that I woke up covered in blood or that when I get to the ultrasound there won't be a heartbeat. I am terrified that my baby won't have a heartbeat. As excited as I am to see him on the screen, I can't shake this feeling.

I'm not really sure what to expect tomorrow. I am so ready to have it done and over with though. I'm like 90% sure they are going to take blood, which is not a good thing for me. I have a terrible phobia with blood and just knowing it is in the same room as me can cause me to faint. I usually burst into tears as soon as I see a nurse with a needle. I am such a baby.

I'll be sure to update when we have an ultrasound picture. I keep trying to look up the statistics and know what my chances of not finding a heartbeat are, but everything I read is less than reassuring. I know that God is in control, but I'm really just having a hard time with this one. I want this baby. I already love this baby. I can't "just get pregnant again" like everyone says when I mention my fear of miscarriage because it wont be THIS baby. Lord, I know you are all controlling and you have my best interest at heart. Please help me to calm my thoughts and give me the strength to lay this at your feet. Amen.

Movement: None yet, can't wait to feel it though!

Sunday update

I thought I would start a tradition this week of writing a weekly update every Sunday( I don't want to write about only baby stuff) :)

1. I missed school last week due to a "blizzard" that never came. I have to drive two hours to school so I didn't want to make the trek there to have to turn right around. In the end, we only had snow flurries.

2. This week was my nieces birthday. She was actually born on Feb. 29th, so we don't technically have to let her turn one :D. We celebrated on Saturday with her birthday party, and she loved the bags more than the present.

3. My sister and her boyfriend came down to celebrate my sister's birthday (which was in Feb. 13, but we just now had time to celebrate). They stayed with us and we had a blast.

4. I got new shoes! They are black and pink Nike Shocks. My last pair lasted over 5 years so I was in desperate need of a new pair!

5. 67 days until I graduate from college. Thats exciting! :)
